Yes, believe it or not this piece was first inspired by a lava lamp. It was 3:30 AM and I was heading to bed. Computer was turned off, only light in the room was the lava lamp. I suddenly got the urge to draw, maybe the lava lamp itself, maybe out of the forms it created, I didn't care, just wanted to draw.

Well as you can see, the middle blob is as much resemblence as it bears to a lava lamp. After that my mind wandered as I drew in the lamp's light till 4:30, and this strange picture is the final result. @.@
