One upon a time I had this fun idea for a comic in which a rambunctious and idiotic Electrode, cheered on by his hyperactive Magnemite pal, goes on a Pokémon journey, collecting the badges and everything. Of course it would never work without their other companion, a condescending Lunatone who uses its psychic powers to make humans believe there's a trainer accompanying them all. I don't remember if I knew where all the story would go, but I remember the detail that Cress the Lunatone met the others on Kanto's Route 9 because it used to have a trainer who had released it into the wild there. That history figured into Cress's negative and skeptical attitude but also a need for friendship, even with a couple of losers who couldn't do anything without him.
Artistically speaking, I sketched this up as a sort of proof of concept, but I think I was actually planning to model these characters in 3D. They're all pretty stiff as far as posing goes, so it would have been pretty easy to do lots of renders from different angles, thereby cutting down on the work that a comic requires.
I have no intention of making this comic these days, so if this silly story inspires anybody out there, feel free to have at it.
