May today be merry and bright for everyone out there, and a little more so for fans of the recent Pokémon Legends Z-A game, as I have a new piece featuring its starters. I did two versions, a regular and one for the holidays. Enjoy!
Sketches Galore

Back in 2005 I set up the Hand Sketched Pages gallery, which was incomplete even then, but there have been plenty more sketches in the past 20 years. I've long been meaning to update that gallery and, guess what, today's the day. You'll find 22 new pieces, each packed with multiple Pokémon. Some you may recognize as sketchy versions of their polished counterparts, but a lot are previously unseen work. Among these many additions are 32 Pokémon that were previously nowhere on SP! so that's a bonus on top of finally bringing this area of the site up to date.
Unrelated to the Hand Sketched Pages, I found this Gardevoir from a little one-off comic that never materialized (celebrating all my Hoenn Pokémon reaching L100). There's no good place on the site for something like this, so I'm just sharing it here.

The Final Three

I didn't make my goal of drawing all 151 Kanto Pokémon by last year's end, so I set my sights on a new date, my 25th anniversary of playing Pokémon for the first time. That's tomorrow, and I'm happy to say that I have reached my goal with a day to spare! The final three were Mr. Mime, Machoke, and Kadabra.
As sort of a victory lap to help the occasion sink in, I gathered 151 pieces of my artwork to compile this image. It actually stole my thunder a bit to realize how few of these are sketched outlines—like it wouldn't take all that long to do them up "proper" and feel even more accomplished. But then, there are plenty of older pieces that don't have any shading on them, so should I make better versions of those, too? No, I shan't be going down that rabbit hole. The fact is, Kanto's the oldest generation so it's going to have my worst art from way back when. I'll leave well enough alone.

Something Old, Something New

Recently an extended power outage gave me the opportunity to draw some, and Lickitung was the result. Also, while sorting through old iScribble screencaps yesterday, I found a couple of little things from 2010 that don't deserve gallery placement, but which I'll place here so that they're on the site.
